LSC 101 7.2.8.6.2 The Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) shall approve any Fire Escape by Load Test or Certification (other evidence of strength)
Load Test, also known as a performance test, is a procedure that determines how a system behaves under normal and peak workloads. We apply 100 lbs. per square meter by using sand bags, weight boxes, anchor point or other acceptable forms of weights available. The main purpose of a load test is to confirm that a system can handle the expected load level (people exiting the building during an emergency). Load Testing is often used and/or required by many cities and states before or after a repair project
